The Group Executive
Committee is a group of parents and leaders who are
elected to ensure the effective running of the Scout
Group. The main aims of the committee are to ensure
the financial security of the group, recruitment of
Adult Support, and Youth members to the Group. In
addition to this, the Group Executive is responsible
for raising the profile of the Group in the local
community.
The Exec is led by the Groups Scout Leader's
nomination for Chair, and assisted by an elected
Secretary and Treasurer. The role of the Group Scout
Leader (GSL) is to lead the Scouting activities of
the group. Members are also elected to the Exec and
all serve 1 year terms. Re-election is common, and
elections are held at the Group AGM.
Members of the Group Exec MUST ensure they are
eligible to serve as a trustee of a charity. Please
contact the Group Chairman if you have any
questions, or wish to help the group on the exec.
