
The Group Executive
What is the Group Exec
The Group Executive Committee is a group of parents and leaders who are elected onto the committee to effectively run the group. The main aims of the committee are to ensure the financial security of the group, recruitment of Adult Members and Youth Members to the group. In addition to this the Group Exec is responsible for raising the profile of the group in the local community.
The group Exec is led by an elected Chairperson, and an appointed Group Scout Leader (GSL). The GSL is appointed by Inverness District Scouts to lead the group's Scouting activities. A Treasurer and Secretary are elected to support the Group Chairperson. These elections are made at the AGM, which each post being a one year term. Re-election is acceptable, and common.
Who can be on the Exec?
Any person aged 18+ can serve on the Exec. Membership is though nomination at the AGM, with this being approved. However the Exec does have the power to co-op people onto the Exec during the Year. The Year runs from April 1st - March 31st.
