Today our beavers, cubs and scouts came together to celebrate our founder Baden Powell and gave thanks for the gift of scouting which bring so many together from different walks of life. #skillsforlife #scouts

⚜️🎈 Happy Founders Day Lord Baden Powell. ⚜️🎈 This evening we'll be having a short Founder's Day Service and invite current members and former scouts to join us at Inverness Cathedral at 6:30pm for a short 45 minute service of thanks. At scouts tonight, Friday Night was pancake night. Flipping good fun and less chaotic than usual #skillsforlife

Come along to our Prize Bingo afternoon this Saturday 2pm - 4:30pm FREE ENTRY! Pay per bingo book of 6 games - £5 per book or £20 for a family of 4 or more. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be served. Biscuits and home baking will also be available to accompany your cuppa! Donations of home baking will be gratefully received on the day. Aaaand finally, there will be raffle tickets sold and drawn on the day, so try your luck to support the Scout’s summer camp. Raffle prizes will also be gratefully received and these can be handed into sectional meetings prior to the event or on the day. Parking is limited at our venue so we encourage eco-friendly transport for this event. Cycling, bussing, walking or scootering are all fantastic methods of coming along. A bit late. On Friday the Scouts heard from Finlay about his adventures in Korea at the World Scout Jamboree.

The Scouts had a fantastic time this weekend with our last camp of the season (indoors!) at Tomintoul. Despite the wet and chilly weather, our Halloween themed fun included hiking, pumpkin carving and learning about Día de Muertos.

This weekend, some of our scouts completed their Expedition Challenge hiking in Culbin Forest, developing their navigaiton skills. #SkillsForLife

We were delighted to welcome our District Commissioner Paul to Scouts this evening for our Air Activities night. At the end of our meeting we were very proud to have Paul present Franio with his Chief Scout's Gold Award and Lexi with a Commissioner's Commendation, recognising her representing Scotland in Basketball for her age range. #SkillsForLife

Scouts are back after a chilled out summer and back with some team building, from budding towers, lighting candles, parachuting eggs and the blind leading the blind. Great to have 6 new scouts with 2 cubs moving up and 4 from our want to join list. #SkillsForLife

Today we went to the home of Scouting to explore and to enjoy the 3G Swing and some rafting

Today weedt the big smoke for our visit to St Albans where we explored the cathedral before an afternoon of geocaching and a joint troop night with local scouts.

Tonight we returned to our friends at the Lord Amory who kindly hosted us to an evening of kayaking and sailing.

This morning we learnt about the Mail Rail and post at the postal museum

The weather wasn't with us this evening as we've had heavy rain

We overcame the Northern line being suspended to e eventually reach and enjoy a great day at the RAF Museum

We wrapped up our day with a visit to parliament where the scouts debated banning homework (the ayes had it). Back to site for some archery and a campfire

This morning the scouts headed for St Paul's before some time in the Tate Modern before our walk along the southbank towards Parliamenr

Last Saturday saw the post-covid return of our family fun afternoon and AGM. We were delighted to have such a great turnout and fantastic weather as we celebrated activities of the group over the last year and look ahead to the next.

On Friday nights the scouts were practising their tent pitching ahead of our summer camp to London as well as Orientreeing and playing Mappleships

In a little under 4 weeks the scout troop will be in London's West End for Scouts the Musical as part of our summer camp

On Friday nights the scouts were building chariots, as they learnt (or re-learnt) how tie lashings before we raised the chariots in the park, with the winners being the first back over the line (or the one that held together longest) #SkillsForLife

Today we’re celebrating the #Coronation of HM King Charles III. It’s an opportunity for us all to reflect on service to others, which is a key part of our Promise and values.

This weekend the scouts were back out indoor camping at Tomintoul for our visit since covid. A very cold weekend with occasional snow didn't dampen warm spirits and greay activities.

Tonight we had out first "bring a parent to scouts night" so parents could find out what we do and hear about our exciting camping programme for the year.

Tonight the scouts had a fantastic visit to see (and climb in) the coastguard helicopters as well as learning some first aid and the terrific work that the coastguard do.

It was pleasing to see several of our group join the large crowd assembled at the Town House today for the proclamation for the Sheriffdom of Grampian, Highlands & Islands, of Charles III as King.

Tonight our scouts met for our normal Friday meeting, but with a difference. We remembered our late Sovereign and Patron HM Queen Elizabeth, who the scouts decided was dedicated, respectful marvellous and indeed at times funny.

Huge thanks to the staff who looked after us so nicely for our dinner. No deep fried Mars Bars were ordered.

Today we have spent the day out exploring Glasgow and even met the Polis during our walk along the Clyde towards the Riverside Museum.

It rained from the very early hours of the morning to pretty much tea time. We still managed to have fun with lamps and stoves, skulls, trading posts and even time for the low ropes course.

Today we spent the day on site for backwoods cooking and a lot of screaming at crate climbing and tomahawk throwing. We rounded off our day with George, Kai and the crew at the radio club doing our Communicator badge.

Today we spent the day off site on a day hike and navigation activity round the Greenock cut before a a campfire and marshmallows

Our first full proper day back on a normal summer camp in 3 years saw us developing our pioneering and geocaching in Inverkip

Last night the scouts were at GoOutdoors for a very informative kit talk, learning why we need to have the right sleeping bags, boots etc for camps and activities as well how to wear a rucksack correctly.

Scouts met on Wednesday this week to enjoy a coached evening of lawn bowls at Fraser Park Bowling Club.

Last night our Beavers were exploring different badges through playing badge bingo.

Congratulations to HM Queen Elizabeth II the patron of the UK Scout Association on her platinum jubilee. Today marks the 70th anniversary of her ascension to the throne and also 70 years since becoming the Scout's patron.

Last night the scouts were working together to build trebuchets from bamboo and rubber bands, to see who could launch their bean bag furthest down the hall.

We're delighted to share, on what would have been the Awards day at Windsor Castle that Heather (ASL) and Graham (GSL) have been recognised with the Award for Merit. Heather has been Scouting in Aviemore and Inverness for 20 years, with Graham involved for almost 20 years in a variety of roles. Additionally Oz (ASL) has been recognised with the Chief Scout's Commendation for Good Service. A quick update on the works. Macraild's (and team) have been in for the last 2 weeks working hard. The kitchen area is now built ready for taping and paining (we'll need volunteers). The internal and external plumbing is now connected up and we are ready for our kitchen to go in, in 2 weeks time.

Wee update on the hall. We have a new wall :) It's starting to look like a new kitchen

First week of work completed and the builders, plumbers and electrician have been have been busy in the hall. The concrete floor is where the cupboards were, the wood on the floor is where the kitchen entrance will be.
